In design we specialise in visual and interaction design and user experience, and their assessment.

We have significant experience in digital design, and specifically in the implementation of intuitive and interactive interfaces. Our work, both in terms of research and development, focuses on a number of specific application areas within the public and commercial spheres. We have a particular expertise in developing end-user applications for the web, mobile devices and physical and virtual environments for work and play. We practise user-centred design (UCD) in our work.

Software development work has, more recently, focussed on the design and implementation of innovative web-based tools for digital asset management (DAM) and, specifically, the cataloguing of digital images.

At a European level, we are currently engaged in a Eureka project – led by the Finnish technology company Lappset Group – to design and develop a fitness and outdoor exercise park suitable for people of all ages. The project – called the Dynamic Garden – launched in 2007, is co-funded by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes) and will be completed later in 2009.

Upcoming projects will focus on developing new approaches to digital user engagement such as interactive spatial environments for communication, sports and games; ubiquitous and wearable computing, augmented & mixed reality and 3D user interfaces.
